From Darkness to Light

Many people face unique challenges when it comes to hearing the Gospel. In Cambodia’s countryside, villages are spread out across farmland and connected by small dirt roads. Modest wooden homes with tin roofs stand on stilts to withstand seasonal flooding. And at night, a lack of electricity leaves many people in both physical and spiritual darkness.

To overcome this obstacle, solar-powered radio devices equipped with lights are now being distributed to remote FEBC listeners in Cambodia. These tools allow hard-to-reach Cambodians to tune into Christian broadcasts throughout the day, and even into the night—bringing light and hope where it’s needed most.

Here are two stories from listeners whose lives have been impacted.

Yeay’s Story

“My name is Yeay Rom, and I live in a rural village in northern Cambodia. Though age has weakened me, physically, my love for the Lord remains strong. Every week, I walk nearly half an hour to attend church.

“Even when I’m tired, each step is filled with gratitude for all that God has done for me.

“Recently, my heart overflowed with joy when I received a solar light and a Radio/MP3 Player from FEBC. These gifts have been an incredible blessing. Before, my evenings were spent in darkness, simply waiting for the morning light so I could resume my daily chores. But now, this precious light allows me to stay active after sunset, and the radio fills my home with God’s Word and songs of praise.

“It truly feels as though God has placed His hand upon my life, gently reminding me of His love in the smallest moments. I am deeply thankful. You have given me more than just light—you’ve brought spiritual warmth into my home, reminding me daily of God’s grace and presence.

“Jesus has been so incredibly good to me—words can hardly express what He means to my life.”

Ming’s Story

“My name is Ming, and I live in a very remote area in Cambodia. I am deeply thankful to have received a solar light and a Radio/MP3 Player filled with God’s Word and uplifting songs. I can’t afford electricity, and being alone in the darkness each night was often very difficult.

“But now, I give thanks to God for these incredible gifts. The Radio/MP3 Player brings me comfort through encouraging messages, and the solar light has driven away the darkness that once surrounded me.

“I’m truly grateful to FEBC for blessing me in such a meaningful way. May God richly bless you for your kindness and generosity.”
