Unreached in Focus: The 10/40 Window

The 10/40 Window is a rectangular geographic area stretching from North Africa through the Middle East to Asia. This group of 68 countries sits between 10 and 40 degrees north latitude. Also called “The Resistance Belt” this region includes the majority of the world’s Muslims, Hindus, and Buddhists.

Two-thirds of the world’s population live within the 10/40 Window and over three billion are considered unreached. This means that three out of five people in the 10/40 Window have little or no access to the Gospel. As a result, they are unlikely to hear about Jesus unless someone outside their culture tells them.

The 10/40 Window is also home to some of the largest unreached people groups in the world like the Turks, Moroccan Arabs, Burmese, and Pashtun. These people groups often suffer from poverty, disease, spiritual strongholds, and political oppression. Millions are held captive and unaware of the transforming power of the Gospel.

The need for prayer is great. Will you join us as the Body of Christ today?

SAMPLE PRAYER

Heavenly Father, we come before you now to pray for the millions of unreached people living in the 10/40 Window. We ask for Your leading and guidance to show us how to share the message of Christ with the people groups there. May our hearts align with Your heart to reach those who have never heard the name of Jesus.

Lord, we thank you for each new believer living inside the 10/40 Window. Please help them grow in their faith, find a local church, and share Jesus with others in their communities. We also ask for freedom for those suffering from spiritual strongholds, poverty, and oppression.

Lastly, we ask for spiritual breakthroughs in every place there is resistance to the Gospel. Lord may your light shine in the darkest of places. Thank you for loving us with unending passion. Thank you for hearing our requests for the unreached. May the name of Jesus be proclaimed in the 10/40 Window – until all have heard!

Amen.
