While we often want instant results, God works patiently and persistently. Sometimes, He draws people to Himself in a single moment. But most often, God’s loving pursuit unfolds over years.

For Embotsu, it took thirteen years of listening to FEBC for God to transform his heart.

Embotsu belongs to the Tionghoa community, ethnic Chinese who make up one of Indonesia’s largest minority groups. In a nation of more than 285 million people, scattered across thousands of islands, reaching individuals like him with the Gospel requires both faithful presence and God’s perfect timing.

From a Casual Listener to Truth Seeker

“At first, I just enjoyed the songs because they sounded nice to my ears,” Embotsu shares. For years, he tuned into FEBC simply because he liked the music. “But over time,” he says, “the deep words about God drew me in, and I wanted to learn more about Christianity.”

What began as casual listening became a search for truth.

In a country where about 87% of the population is Muslim, opportunities to hear the Gospel can be limited, especially in remote communities where Embotsu lives. Yet through consistent broadcasts of worship, biblical teaching, and encouragement, God was laying a foundation in Embotsu’s life.

Becoming Aware of God’s Love

Little by little, Embotsu noticed something changing within him.

“That’s when I stopped feeling afraid about being alone because I realized that God is with me,” he says. The loneliness that once marked his life gave way to a growing awareness of God’s presence.

Recently, Embotsu reached out to the FEBC Indonesia team with life-changing news: he wanted to commit his life to Jesus!

The FEBC team quickly visited Embotus with a local pastor to baptize him and welcome him into the family of God. They also connected him with a nearby church where he can continue to grow in his faith within a community.

“And now, since I have received Jesus, I know that He is always by my side,” Embotsu shares.

God’s Bigger Story in Indonesia

Today, FEBC Indonesia operates more than 105 stations, reaching an estimated 500,000 listeners across the country in seven languages. One of those listeners is Embotus, a new brother in Christ. His story is a beautiful reminder of how each broadcast plants seeds that God nurtures in His time.

By living out the Great Commission each day, we see an unchanging truth: God never stops pursuing people with patience and love, even when the story takes longer than we expect.

Because of your partnership and support, FEBC is able to continue sharing the Gospel with people who are desperate for hope – Thank you!
