Behind the Scenes of Our Family Program in Cambodia

Your family probably played a critical role in forming your view of God, especially in your most formative years as a child. Throughout Scripture, it’s clear: God designed the family to be the soil where faith can flourish and be passed down for generations. When a father, mother, and children are spiritually healthy, the family becomes one of the most powerful living examples of God’s love.

But we also know that every family is broken in some capacity. That’s why we all need the support of a godly community to help us become the beacons of hope God calls us to be.

Since 2002, FEBC Cambodia has offered that kind of support to families through Family FM 99.5. Broadcasting across the nation, including hard-to-reach provinces, this radio station provides biblical wisdom, emotional encouragement, and practical help for daily life. Locally, it’s known as Krusa FM, using the Khmer word for “family.”

Revival Starts at Home

Krusa FM 99.5 is FEBC’s long-term commitment to Cambodian families. With 97% of the population identifying as Buddhist, radio remains one of the most effective and trusted ways to reach people in their homes. And home is often where revival begins.

One listener, Po Cheuy from Kep Province, used to struggle with anger and stress at home. Everything changed once he started listening to Krusa FM. God began to transform conflict into compassion. “Now, when I feel angry, I remind myself to calm down,” he said. “I’ve learned to be more patient and take better care of my children.”

Going Beyond the Radio

To stay close to listeners like Po Cheuy, Krusa FM recently partnered with local church leaders to host an in-person family seminar in southern Cambodia. More than 65 men, women, and children attended this event focused on building stronger marriages.

By the end of the day, families shared how the event helped them:

  • Control anger and build peace with their families
  • Grow in love, patience, and mutual respect
  • Restore broken relationships through forgiveness

One of the most powerful moments of the event was when married couples dedicated time to share loving and affirming words with each other. Some couples shared that this was the first time they’ve done so in years, making it a day of “joy and encouragement.”

A Turning Point for Families

Mr. Leng Vuthy said, “This seminar was a turning point for us. I gained a deeper understanding of how to support and care for my wife. I now feel more confident and committed, not just in leading my household, but in walking together with my wife in love, understanding, and teamwork.”

Attendees like Mr. Leng also shared how one of the most helpful parts of the event was the practical ways to lead his family. For example, there was a session that shared how to navigate family finances. “I learned how to save wisely, plan a budget, and look for ways to create extra income,” Mr. Leng said. “These lessons gave me a clear vision for how to build a better future for my family.”

Families are one of God’s greatest resources for reaching the world with His love. Thank you for helping us invest in the spiritual, emotional, and practical well-being of families across Cambodia. We believe that through God’s power, broken relationships will be restored, faith will take root, and lives will be changed for generations to come.

Because of your partnership and support, FEBC is able to continue sharing the Gospel with people who are desperate for hope – Thank you!
