Alina’s Media Ministry to Children in Moldova

Alina was born an artistic child into a non-believing family in Moldova, an Eastern European country bordered by Romania and Ukraine. She grew up with no reason to expect her life would one day be devoted to the Great Commission, but that changed at a Christian camp, where a simple song about Jesus lodged itself in her heart. “Someone put this song in my head about Jesus,” she says. “Through the years, I remembered all the words.”

At 15, Alina became a Christian, and her family did not take the news well. “My father told my mother that I’d destroyed my life,” Alina remembers. She could have allowed those words to define her future. Instead, she held onto something else she sensed God speaking to her in that season: “I remember that God said to me that you will have a new ministry.”

Reaching Children First

Alina met her husband, Ilya, in college, and together they now lead FEBC Moldova. Years later, that word she’d heard as a teenager took shape in an unexpected way: through their own son.

When Alina and Ilya had their four-year-old boy, they searched for Christian content for children in the Russian language and came up empty. They decided to create it themselves, writing children’s songs and programs. “Through the media, we can show them the love of God,” Ilya says.

The response has been steady and personal. Families and children regularly reach out to Alina and Ilya, sharing how the programs have inspired kids to read their Bibles. Beyond the broadcasts, the ministry connects listeners with local churches, helping believers find a community to grow in.

For Alina, reaching children first feels especially meaningful. She’s seen it firsthand in her own family: her parents are now believers themselves. It’s a reminder that the Gospel often moves through a household in ways no one expects.

A Ministry Born from What Was Missing

Alina’s story carries the same thread as so many at FEBC: a voice reaching someone who needed it, then multiplying into something far bigger than one listener. A song at a camp became a lifelong faith. A gap in children’s content became a ministry.

Perhaps the greatest miracle from Alina’s story is how God has used her life to reach three generations within her own family. “I was the first person in my family who became a Christian,” she says. “And after me, my parents became Christians. My grandmother became a Christian.” What once divided her family now unifies them. “I thank God every day because I know my parents have a Savior. For me, it’s a big gift from God.”

Today, Alina and Ilya continue writing and producing for the children of Moldova, trusting that the same love that reached a teenage girl through a song can reach a new generation, one family at a time.

Because of your partnership and support, FEBC is able to continue sharing the Gospel with people who are desperate for hope – Thank you!
