Zahid* was an avid Muslim. If he met anyone who wasn’t, he made it his mission to convert them.
At his university, he got very close to another classmate, and after classes they would hang out with one another. Zahid soon got the sense that his friend wasn’t a Muslim, so he started telling him about the Islamic faith. But his friend responded differently than others, with answers to Zahid’s questions that he had never heard before.
“What I found in this person, was a quality that I realized I didn’t have,” Zahid said. He couldn’t quite put his finger on what it was, but it intrigued him.
“All my life I had never been loved. Every day I counted all the ways I was sinning to Allah. I was afraid of going to hell, rather than being loved by God. What touched and changed me was…”
