In September, we received incredible news from Kyrgyzstan: our request for a new license in the city of Talas was granted by the government! This means Janysh and Ulanbek of FEBC Kyrgyzstan can begin preparations for installing the tower immediately, and may have it up and running by the end of 2017!
Talas is the largest city in the Northwest of Kyrgyzstan and is an important regional hub. By setting up the antenna on the mountains outside the city, the potential audience of the new station is 250,000 people.
The Strategic Plan for Kyrgyzstan
This is all part of a broader strategic plan for reaching all of Kyrgyzstan with the Gospel. Rudi Wiens, director of FEBC Central Asia, estimates that with just 6 stations, virtually the entire country can be within reach of our broadcasts, either by radio, satellite or internet.
Talas is the 4th station in this 6-station plan, with 2 other stations planning to be built in Osh and Naryn in the coming years, Lord willing.
As you can see on the map below, stations in Bishkek, Issyk-Kul and Toktogul have been established and are reaching just about half of the 6 million people in the country.
God has already shown FEBC Kyrgyzstan so much favor and we can’t wait to see how He will continue to open the doors that are necessary to establish stations in Osh and Naryn.
