Arief lives in Indonesia, which has
the largest Muslim population in the world.
Everyday, he hears the Muslim call to prayer, which rings throughout the city 5 times a day. Arief lives in a Muslim world and there’s no denying it. However, he boldly penetrates his environment with a different voice. He carries a portable radio with him – tuned to FEBC.
As Arief leaves his house and waits for a taxi, he turns on his radio. Drivers and passengers listen to it as they wait for their ride. When he arrives at the waiting room of his local Christian doctor, he leaves his radio on. Patients of other faiths hear the Word of God as they wait.He periodically cranks up the volume so it can be heard on the streets.
Arief says, “If they [Muslims] can expose us to their faith 5 times a day, why can’t we share ours too?”
One day he decided to ask people for their response to the programs. Many said they thoroughly enjoyed the music. He also asked the nurse in the doctor’s office. She said patients listen very carefully to the program. One patient even said, “Wow, I never knew there were Christians living in this area!”
Bold Christians are sharing the Gospel daily in difficult environments. FEBC broadcasts not only strengthen them, but have become a tool for evangelism. By giving to support FEBC broadcasts in Muslim-influenced countries…
You can help Christians like Arief share the Gospel.
