300,000 PEOPLE IN THE ISSYK KUL REGION HAVE NEVER HEARD OF CHRIST.
BUT THAT’S ABOUT TO CHANGE.
It’s a cold, misty day in the mountains of Kyrgyzstan. Rudi and Janysh, FEBC staff members, look down from the slopes of the mountain onto the Issyk Kul lake region, which stretches over a hundred miles.
“Can you imagine,” Rudi says, “that this whole region, for all previous generations has never had a church, or any Christian broadcasts whatsoever?”
Rudi smiles when he says this, because for the 300,000 people living in the villages below, this is all about to change.
Getting the license to broadcast into the region
Installing the relay station in the mountains
Funding the operation of the station for 3 years.
Project Issyk-Kul is Complete!
All three phases are funded and our station is on the air to over 300,000 people in the Issyk-Kul region of Kyrgyzstan!
Since 1945, our mission has been to share Christ with the world by radio—particularly people in hard-to-reach areas. Today we are broadcasting in 100 languages and last year alone, we received 2.2 million listener responses, many attesting to transformed lives through the saving grace of Jesus Christ.
