In early October, FEBC Thailand sent two teams out to meet and visit listeners throughout the country. The TTB team traveled over 11 hours by car to minister throughout the Chiang Rai province in northern Thailand from October 4-6. The Mon team ministered in the Ranong province in southern Thailand from October 5-7.
The TTB team included nine people who made the 11 hour drive to visit listeners scattered throughout the region. One evening, they were blessed by the opportunity to visit a local church.
The Mon team journeyed throughout communities in southern Thailand for three days, distributing radios to communities with large Mon populations, an ethnic group native to Myanmar. Their first stop was at Chom Phorn. Team members reported that there is a dense population of Mon migrant people in this area, including eight migrant Christian families from Mon churches. The team had the wonderful opportunity to meet with them and worship together through a communion service.
The Mon team’s second stop was in Wiphawadi, an area with many migrant people from Myanmar and another large Mon congregation. Believers in this area have been worshipping at a local Thai church, they reported. The team was with them over Sunday and was grateful for the chance to preach and lead communion for them.
In addition to this opportunity to meet some of their listeners face to face and worship with them, FEBC Thailand also connects with many of their listeners via letters and emails received at the station.
“Hello to my dear sister in Christ,” one listener wrote in a letter received by FEBC Thailand’s staff. “I always listen to your program. The content of it is useful, entertaining and gives good suggestions for life. I have a big family problem which is so difficult that I can’t bare it, but your program makes me feel better.
This listener shared with the staff that despite many problems in her life, which make her question her desire to live, her children give her a reason to keep living. Praise the Lord that this listener also expressed a desire to apply for FEBC’s Bible Correspondence Course.
Please join FEBC Thailand by praying for their listeners—those whom they have been fortunate enough to meet in person and those whom they have not. Pray that their hearts and minds will continue to be receptive to the gospel message and hunger for the salvation of Jesus Christ.
