The security threat surrounding FEBC’s radio station in Mozambique is worsening. Radical Islamist militias have continued their terror, killing numerous people over the past two weeks in villages right near the station.
Two weeks ago, two of FEBC’s broadcasters were arrested by government forces. Though they were accused of clandestine activities, they were released after two days.
Many villagers have fled to more-populated towns and are sleeping in large groups for safety. The station manager’s wife sleeps in a large group at night, but her husband and security guard remain at the station.
Throughout the region, people are terrified because of the destruction of entire villages, crops, and the gruesome beheadings even of children conducted by these militias.
FEBC’s staff, and the people of Mozambique, are in desperate need of your prayers.
