Recently, we received an inspiring story from one of our staff living overseas who befriended a Chinese woman 27 years ago.
“Our programs really hit home when it involves someone personally close to me. 27 years ago, a young lady we will call Janet* came from China to an American University. Janet had come to know the Lord through a “worker” in China. Janet, my wife and I, drew very close to each other. She graduated, went back to China, and eventually emigrated to Canada. Before coming to university, her father divorced her mother, remarried, and started a new family. Here is Janet’s story of FEBC’s influence upon her father finally coming to Christ.
“I should mention that many years ago when my Dad supervised mobile network projects in remote mountains, he would listen to a gospel radio station broadcast. I remember him telling me he would listen to that radio station every night and felt such peace. He even wrote to the station to ask for a Bible and print materials. The radio station kept him company for a long time to the point that he even took his second family to the local church when he was not working away from home….I share this because my Dad’s experience gave me a new level of appreciation for the ministry you are doing at FEBC. May the Lord continue to use this channel to reach people far and wide.”
Janet ended with this: “Last November when my pastor in Canada talked to my dad on the phone, he made sure my dad knew where he was going after this life.” Her dad passed on to glory two months ago.
Praise God for His timing and for His providence in bringing Janet and her father to Christ!
