The winter of 2003 came early. We really hoped to beat the
winter by pouring our foundation. But weather beat us. We had to winterize the
work we had done and wait until the spring. It seemed to be a long wait, I must
say. Kalevi had changed his ticket to leave early for Finland.
We used
40cm thick styrofoam on the footing, put plywood on top, then covered it all
with plastic. There are several benefits to doing this, the most important
being we can start early next spring.
Someone asked: Are you planning
to build a swimming pool here? Someone else asked if we were going to have an
ice skating arena! |
