Helping Jakarta Flood Victims

WHILE FLOOOD WATERS IN JAKARTA have begun to subside, FEBC-Indonesia continues to distribute water and food to those stranded on the outskirts of the city.

FEBC-Indonesia is also collecting blankets, clothes, soap, and medicine to assist the 430,000 displaced persons battling dehydration, diarrhea, skin infections, and influenza due to waterborne illnesses from the floods.

As an extension of their broadcast ministry, FEBC-Indonesia reaches out to people in need through an emergency program called Heartline Care, offering aid in the critical hours following a disaster.

The ministry was instrumental in helping survivors of the 2004 tsunami, the 2005 earthquake on Nias Island, and the 2006 earthquake in Yogyakarta.

Other ongoing projects include a mother/infant health program, micro-enterprise opportunities, and educational scholarships.
