CAN YOU IMAGINE being able to shave 26% off your monthly electricity bill? That's exactly what we did this past year on Saipan, one of our main transmitter sites that broadcasts daily into Russia, China, and southeast Asia. And we were able to do this because of support from friends like you!
In 2006, FEBC was faced with a staggering increase in electrical costs in Saipan, so we began to pray and do research on the most efficient way to reduce our electrical usage. We determined that adding solid-state modulators to our three 100,000-watt transmitters would be the most effective means to do this, and then we shared this urgent need with our donors. Before long, God moved through the generous gifts of foundations, organizations, other FEBC fields, and supporters to provide the $960,000 needed to purchase the necessary equipment!
And between January and April 2007, our staff on Saipan and two engineers dedicated themselves to the laborious task of installing these state-of-the-art modulators. Now, the new modulators are up and running... saving FEBC $8,000 a month in electricity costs!
