| MOST PEOPLE ACCEPT NEW JOB opportunities because of a pay increase or a better position. Meet one person from FEBCambodia who put service to God first. Following her 2002 graduation from college with a pharmacy degree, 27-year-old Chansopheap began working as a marketing manager for a medical company.
As part of her job, she was required to satisfy a specific sales target each month.
“I tried many strategies to achieve these goals,” she explained. “Even when I slept, I dreamt about my work. One day I thought, Why am I using the brain God gave me to serve the world of money? A New Opportunity
Soon afterwards, Chansopheap’s godfather, who works for Campus Crusade for Christ, asked if she’d be interested in working for FEBC.
Chansopheap met with Samoeun Intal, FEBCambodia’s Director, three times to discuss the ministry and talk about the secretarial position that was open. When Samoeun learned of Chansopheap’s current salary, she explained, "FEBC is a faith-based ministry and can’t compete with secular positions."
Chansopheap knew the FEBC salary wouldn’t be able to cover her monthly expenses, but she decided to trust the Lord. "God knows my needs,"she told Samoeun when she accepted the job. God Provides
"In the two years I’ve been working here," Chansopheap said, "I’ve never lacked money, even thought my salary is small. God is so good!"
Chansopheap’s time at FEBC has also taught her the effectiveness of radio. "While pastors and missionaries are important, they can’t enter everyone’s house the way radio can. With the flick of a switch, FEBC has the ability to touch the hearts of listeners by sharing the Good News of Jesus. I consider it a privilege to work for God’s Kingdom and FEBC!"
