Cambodian Broadcaster Making Impact on Listeners

Thursday December 3rd, 2009

A new talk radio program in Cambodia called “Family Treasure” is generating a great deal of interest from listeners, many of whom are Buddhists. This weekday program addresses family issues from raising children to marriage.

Mealy, the host, recently shared the story of a life transformed as a result of listening to “Family Treasure.”

“Why do you believe in Jesus?” Sophanny, a new listener, asked Mealy.

Sophanny and Mealy began texting and phoning one another regularly. Sophanny now had a different impression of the Bible. “I didn’t used to like the name of Jesus,” she explained, “but now it’s different.” Sophanny finally started praying to God.

One day she was involved in a motorcycle accident and was the only person not hurt. She believes God protected her. Last week Sophanny made her first visit to a church.

FEBC staff are so encouraged when they see listeners like Sophanny open their hearts to God. Thank you for your partnership that makes this possible.
