I just received an urgent call for prayer from FEBC-Philippines. Typhoon Ondoy has compromised the transmitters at our shortwave installation in Bocaue that broadcasts gospel programs in more than 50 languages. They are currently shut down to avoid further damage. Over the next two days we will assess the full impact of the flooding on our equipment. 

Extensive damage to the sophisticated electrical equipment would be devastating and prevent our transmissions from going out for many weeks, maybe months. The road leading up to the transmitter building has been completely washed away.

There are millions throughout Asia who look to FEBC for spiritual life, hope and encouragement. For many people living in remote mountainous areas and villages, the broadcasts from FEBC Philippines are the only way they learn about God.

There is so much at stake right now...would you please pray for the following:
• Ask God to protect these precious tools for the spread of the gospel—we have four 100,000-watt shortwave transmitters at risk right now. Ask that God will allow broadcasting to continue without further interruption.
• Ask our Lord to help FEBC staff in the affected area. I’ve been told that at least 2 of our staff have lost their homes entirely and many have had the entire first floor of their homes flooded.
• Ask God to help and comfort the many thousands of Filipinos living in the area of the flooding. Many are poor and have nowhere to go now that their homes are destroyed. As of this writing, more than 140 people have died and many thousands evacuated.
