FEBC-Indonesia Shares the Good News with Muslim Children
Ten years ago, “Ruth,” a medical doctor and partner with FEBC, established a children’s center in Indonesia where 200 children attend 3 times a week to improve their reading, writing, and math skills. “I wanted to plant a seed among these children while they are still young to embrace the Christian worldview,” Ruth says.
At the children’s center, Ruth teaches Christian songs and dramatizes Bible stories through puppets, and though most of the children come from Muslim families, teaching them about Jesus is acceptable since He is a prophet in the Islamic faith. Mothers often accompany their children to the center so they, too, learn about ‘Isa’ (as Jesus is known in the Koran).
Today, after touching the lives of over 6,000 students, Ruth is as passionate as ever to reach more children with the love of Jesus. To help her, FEBC is assembling care packs, which will include school supplies that can be used at the center, toiletries (many do not own toothbrushes or toothpaste), nutritional bars, and a portable radio pre-tuned to FEBC, which will allow the entire family to listen to FEBC’s daily programs.
To give a care pack to meet the physical and spiritual needs of Muslim children in Indonesia, please watch your mail for next month’s gift catalog from FEBC!
