Indonesians Launch FEBC Listener Clubs
Ignatius Iking first tuned into FEBC-Indonesia in 1994. He listened every afternoon, and before long, he had everyone in his household tuning in. Eventually, he invited several people from his village to join in his daily ritual… and 15 years later, 50 people now meet three times a week to listen to FEBC's God's Word!
The listener club that Ignatius began was the first of many. Now, 104 clubs dot the landscape of this Muslim-dominated nation. Most of the people who participate in the clubs live in rural areas and they often record the programs and share them with friends and neighbors. When the FEBC broadcast concludes, they discuss the program and later read from the Bible. Most clubs consist of 10 to 20 people, and in at least one case, the club has only one radio, so they meet in the same house every time.
FEBC-Indonesia maintains close contact with the people in these listener clubs, encouraging them to participate in FEBC's on-air Bible Correspondence Course, apply God's Word to their daily lives, take care of those around them, and develop income for their family through entrepreneurial projects, such as duck and pig projects sponsored by FEBC-Indonesia.
In order to remain tuned into the needs of their listeners, FEBC-Indonesia periodically mails questionnaires to listeners to improve program content, answers listeners' letters, text messages, and phone calls, counsels listeners, and distributes radios.
As a result, many Indonesian listeners have made commitments to follow Christ… and thousands are growing in their Christian faith! We pray you'll be encouraged by the testimonies below, knowing that your support helped make them possible.
