Former Monk Surrenders Life to Christ

Years ago, a migrant worker at a Malaysian rubber plantation accidentally tuned into an FEBC broadcast. He was so excited to hear a program in his "heart language" of Mon that he wrote to all his friends to share the news.

One of his friends was "Htaw," a former monk serving time in a Thai prison for drug trafficking. Because he wasn't allowed a radio in prison, Htaw contacted the FEBC broadcaster by mail. Soon thereafter, the broadcaster, who was pleased to discover that Htaw had recently committed his life to Christ, began visiting him on a regular basis. He encouraged Htaw and discipled him for many years. As a result, Htaw became an evangelist who reached out to his own people while still in jail.

When he was released, Htaw returned to his homeland. He's now enrolled in Bible school and in his spare time serves as an itinerant evangelist. FEBC's broadcaster continues to offer him guidance and financial support. When he completes his Bible training next year, Htaw wants to become a full-time evangelist to his people!

What's more, today an active prison ministry exists in several Thai prisons… and at least five churches operating within prison walls… due in large part to that Mon broadcast years ago!

This is the kind of impact your support of FEBC helps make possible. So thank you for your gifts and prayers, which God is using to change lives like Htaw, the prisoner-turned-evangelist. We are grateful for your commitment to this ministry!
