FIRST Response

FEBC FIRST Response Teams are located in strategic areas and produce programs that assist people during natural disasters and conflicts. These trained broadcasters create broadcasts, deliver radios to survivors (Give a Radio) and partner with local governments and relief agencies to disseminate life-saving information in devastated regions. Initial broadcasts often include information on:

• First aid techniques and clean water preparedness
• Locating medical services, temporary shelters and food banks
• Searching for missing family and friends
• Finding hope in the midst of tragedy

Beyond Urgent Needs

Once emergency needs subside, broadcasts subtly shift from relief work to development and focus on grief counseling, restoring joy in daily living, and practical messages including housing updates and job opportunities. Broadcasters often become trusted voices of compassion and their ministry extends to phone calls, personal visits and emails.

Building Relationships

Our quick humanitarian response was recognized by a government that led to an invitation to offer long-term recovery broadcasting, allowing us to continue to reach out to people in need.
