Sometimes we forget just how transformative, life-saving, and timely the grace of God is. Similar to Paul's experience on the road to Damascus, read this modern-day story of God's intervention and restoration from one of our listeners in Goa, India:
“I was involved in a lucrative business venture along with my partner. Gradually, as the business expanded, I realized that my partner was cheating on me. First he was skimming off a little amount of money, but later much more. This really upset me. I decided to end his deception by killing him. I eagerly awaited an opportunity to kill him and solve the problem once and for all.
“One morning I decided to execute my plan. Armed with weapons, I drove to his house. On the way, I turned on the radio to listen to my favorite Gospel program. As soon as I did, the speaker said, “In a rage of anger we want to kill people, but God who is rich in mercy and the creator of human beings wants to save his life. You may want to kill but God says, ‘Repent and forgive him; you have no right to take another man’s life.’ This last statement pierced my heart. The words seemed to be speaking directly to me.
“With awe, I realized that God was aware of my plot to kill my partner. Fear gripped my heart. I confessed my sins and pleaded for mercy. After the program ended, I immediately went to my partner’s house and reconciled with him. I’m glad our relationship was restored. This was a memorable day in my life. I have gradually grown in my spiritual life and now lead worship at my church.
