Wednesday, May 1 – Please pray for the political situation in Kazakhstan, requiring local churches to re-register. About 30% do not qualify according to new laws enacted. Please pray that Christians in this predominantly Muslim culture will find a solution to this dilemma. Pray, too, that FEBC will receive its long-awaited FM frequency, to share the Gospel with millions who do not know Christ.
Thursday, May 2 – FEBC Thailand launched a new youth-oriented program on a local radio station in Bangkok. Please pray for the producers, who recently attended a 3-day training course, that they will gain greater insight into the youth of Thailand. Pray, too, that the program will attract many new listeners, wanting to know more about Jesus.
Friday, May 3 –Please pray for our staff in Japan, who work long hours to share the message of Christ in a nation uninterested in Christianity. In this highly secularized country, less than 1% are Christians. Pray that listeners will be eager to learn more about the “Good News.”
Saturday, May 4 - “We live with my mother-in-law and she doesn’t like me; our relationship is not good. My husband doesn’t understand or support me. My friends suggested I listen to FEBC. Thanks to you, I Iearned how to pray for my mother-in-law. I began to go to church and some Christians gave me a Bible. My mother-in-law still doesn’t like me, but I feel much better now. Sunday, May 5 – Please pray for our two radio stations in Nepal that share the love of Christ with listeners. Pray, too, for jail inmates in one of the cities, as they follow the Lord through our radio programs. They recently requested Bibles, which the prison warden agreed to. Pray that God will speak to their hearts through His Word.
Monday, May 6 - “My family and I listen to FEBC and have accepted Jesus as our Savior. So many Hmong have come to faith because of your broadcasts. I pray that God continues to use you. Please pray for wisdom, as I teach God’s Word in 7 villages.” Hmong listener from SE Asia
Tuesday, May 7 – A listener contacted our team in Iraq to talk about his depression. He had been listening to our programs for two months. He said he only feels at peace when he tunes into our broadcasts. He believes only Jesus can give him the joy we discuss on our station. He’s asked us to visit him so he can learn more about Jesus. Please pray for this young man, that he will turn his life over to the Lord.
Wednesday, May 8 – God’s Word is broadcast daily via shortwave in Northeast Africa, and many are listening. Most of them would not otherwise have a chance to hear the Good News. Praise God for this great opportunity to reach these people. Pray that God’s Word bears fruit in their lives.
Thursday, May 9 – Please pray for persecuted Christians, many of whom live in countries where FEBC serves. Pray that God will give them the strength to remain strong in their faith despite opposition. Pray, too, that God will replace their fear with a peace “that passeth all understanding.”
Friday, May 10 – Praise God for the impact that FEBC’s broadcast “Good News” has had on Mongols living in China. In recent years, many have come to faith. Churches are also growing. Through them, we’re distributing radios, so that many more can tune in. FEBC also offers follow-up to those interested in the Gospel.
Saturday, May 11 – “I accidentally found your broadcasts on the Internet and liked your programs right away. Who are you? I will continue to listen to you. Thank you so much for telling us about God and salvation.” Pray that Valentina will one day follow Jesus.
Sunday, May 12 – Mother’s Day – Our team in north India asks for prayer for a new program that promotes women’s rights. “The team is very small, but the challenges are many, so we ask for God’s strength to make them His instrument for change in this culture,” explains one staff member. Pray, too, that God will give them good health and wisdom as they prepare daily broadcasts and respond to listeners.
Monday, May 13 - Praise God for the new radio station that was launched in March, serving the twin cities of Slavyansk & Kramatorsk, Ukraine! We’re grateful for the opportunity to reach up to 1.4 million people. Pray that the necessary funds will be raised to fully equip the studios.
Tuesday, May 14 – The response to Internet broadcasting through FEBC India indicates people are tuning in and contacting us through new media technologies. Please pray we can continue to maximize our use of new media to share the Good News. Our goal is to share Christ with the world, using every technology God puts at our disposal.
Wednesday, May 15 - Please pray for J., the wife of one of our SE Asian ethnic broadcasters who has been quite sick for several months. Pray that the doctors will know best how to treat her and that she will return to good health. Also pray for the on-going work of her husband’s daily broadcasts that go out to several million ethnic listeners.
Thursday, May 16 – “DYFR [Philippines’ station in Cebu] is my medicine every morning – such lovely songs. You just don’t know how God works in my life through your ministry. I put the radio on at the highest volume to fill myself with everything God-related, since music soothes my soul. Your music deepens my relationship with my dearest love of all, Jesus Christ.” Praise God for this listener dedicated to Christ!
Friday, May 17 – Please pray that FEBC’s partner churches in rural Mongolia will fully utilize radio technology for the Kingdom of God. Pray, too, that our Mongolian programmers will continue to develop strong personal relationships with the Lord.
Saturday, May 18 – “One day I felt very depressed and I tuned into your station by accident. The message brought an indescribable peace to my heart. It addressed exactly the same situation I was facing, and it taught me what I needed to do.” Praise God for the impact of our godly broadcasts on the lives of our listeners!
Sunday, May 19 – Please pray for the expansion of our FM ministry in Pakistan. Our development manager was in Hyderabad, where he met with numerous individuals and organizations, to increase our outreach there. Pray, too, for religious freedom, which is eroding. Staff must be very careful about using Christian terminology on FM programs.
Monday, May 20 - Please pray for the staffing needs of all our Philippines stations, particularly technical operators and programmers. May God bring the right people with a heart for ministry to help broadcast the Good News to those yet to hear.
Tuesday, May 21 – “I’ve listened to [FEBCambodia’s] Family FM since it first started. I like the ‘Sunrise’ program because it helps me better understand the Bible. Family FM provides me with knowledge to transform my attitude, inspire my heart, love my neighbors, give me strength in Him, and help me overcome my obstacles.” What a joy to see lives changed by God through daily broadcasts!
Wednesday, May 22 - Please pray for a special program produced by FEBC-Mongolia called The Whisper. It is designed to guide teens in the ways of purity and righteousness and to help them make the right choices during a critical time in their lives. Pray for many teens to tune in, seriously consider the message, and seek God’s will for their lives.
Thursday, May 23 - “I’m a devoted listener of FEBC-China. In the eyes of society, I’m useless, as I was born with cerebral palsy. I cannot walk or talk, but I can laugh. And God has given me wisdom to use a computer. When people have problems with their computers, I can help. I tell you this as an encouragement, for if God can use me in my handicap, how much more can He use you. Praise the Lord for your broadcasts!”
Friday, May 24 – Recently, our offices in New Delhi refurbished their studios. Please pray that the upgraded facilities provide a good springboard for radio projects on shortwave, AM and FM to the hard-to-reach people of northern India.
Saturday, May 25 – A partner in northeast Africa is struggling to raise funds for a particular program they air. It is the only one that broadcasts to a specific people group in their ethnic language. Many people tune in, as they are grateful to hear a broadcast in their mother tongue. Please pray God will provide funds to continue this program.
Sunday, May 26 – Our project leader for our Iraq station will be traveling to another city within the country to investigate launching a second FM station. Please pray that this search will bear much fruit and a new radio project will be initiated as a result.
Monday, May 27 – “I’m 84 years old and my wife is 76. We’re still being nurtured by your broadcasts here in our remote location. We thank the Lord for his continued guidance and provisions for us to support you and visit the radio ministry as long as He gives us strength. Thank you for your precious messages that helped us in our time of need.” It’s a blessing to receive such encouraging notes! Praise God!
Tuesday, May 28 – Please pray for Cecil and Mar, two FEBC missionaries serving in the Philippines. They’re currently on furlough in the States, sharing news of their ministry and raising additional support for their work in SE Asia. Pray for a time of rest and renewal, as they connect with family, friends, and supporters.
Wednesday, May 29 – Please pray for our brand new ethnic broadcast to the Bai of China, launched the end of March. Pray for our programmer who produces the broadcasts, as well as the hearts of our listeners, that they will hear the Good News and turn their hearts towards the Lord.
Thursday, May 30 – Please remember our ethnic broadcasters in your prayers, as they produce programs, meet listeners, distribute radios and share the Gospel in word and deed with many people groups around the world, who have no other way to hear the Good News than through FEBC broadcasts.
Friday, May 31 - Please pray for our staff of 120 in Indonesia who maintain 7 FM stations, shortwave broadcasts, and outreach programs. Their broadcasts reach a potential listening audience of 2 million people. In this most Muslim-dominant nation of the world, pray that hearts will turn towards God.
Thank God for inspiring FEBC-Mongolia to establish a new, low-power FM station in the city of Bayanhongor. Pray for the reach and effectiveness of this ‘new Christian voice’ in an area that has witnessed substantial activity and growth in mining exploration in recent years. May God use this station to open many hearts to the reality of His love.
