Daily Prayer Needs

DAILY PRAYER REQUESTs
Join us in prayer as we follow and desire to model the the words of Jesus "And as he taught them, he said, "Is it not written: " 'My house will be called a house of prayer for all nations'" (Mark 11:17, NIV)

Praise the Lord for Jennifer Huang, who handles the letters Chinese Ministries receives from their FEBC audience.  She writes, “My heart ached as I read letters from our listeners...as they poured out their plight in life. At a loss to help, I could only sigh as I read along.”  Finally, after much prayer, she was shown the way:  “God allowed me to serve these believers and walk with them through their travails.  But in the end, He is responsible for them...He will be their teacher and He will lead them in the path of righteousness.  His promise is our only hope!”  Pray God will continue to give Jennifer His strength and enlightenment as she responds to listeners.

“Upon listening to the testimony of a Muslim girl on the Counseling on Air program, I came to realize that there must be a vast number of believers in China who received new lives through Liangyou Radio broadcasts.  This is precious, especially for those who came to Jesus from other faiths.  Thank God for Liangyou Radio ministry.”

From a recent FEBC Chinese Ministries’ newsletter:  “The rapid growth and expansion of our new media approach has made a great impact and offers us new opportunities to reach people.  It’s been a wonderful asset, overcoming political, religious, and geographical barriers, with an exponential growth to fulfill the high calling of bringing the gospel to the ends of the earth.”

Batjargal Tuvshintsengel, director of FEBC-Mongolia, writes:  “I’d like everyone in my country to have the opportunity to hear about salvation through Jesus Christ.  In a nomadic country like Mongolia, the best way to achieve this is through radio.  We desire to expand our broadcasts to reach all 21 provinces.”  Pray that God will enable FEBC to make great strides towards fulfilling this goal in 2012!

From FEBCambodia in December:  “We have been shocked to hear of the death of the young wife of Dyla, a former member of our programming team who still produces music for Family FM. Apparently Dyla, his wife Rasmey and 2-year-old son were attacked by robbers while out on their motorbike and Rasmey was shot and killed. Please pray for Dyla and his son, and for their extended family, in the aftermath of this devastating loss.”

Praise God for greatly multiplying the reach and effectiveness of FEBC’s ethnic broadcasts—often the only means of communication available in remote areas.  “The listeners’ club we recently formed in my village has divided into two groups...there are many obstacles because most are farmers who work daily in the field...and our village does not have electricity when they return home at night. But we are not hopeless and still try our best to have them join us in listening in the early morning hours.  Praise the Lord...the broadcasts are winning souls for Christ in our village and reinforcing the spiritual growth of Christians who thirst for God’s Word.”

And in a country of 87 million, less than 2% are evangelical Christians.  Pray that God will provide the guidance and resources needed to meet the escalating demand for cell chips and speaker boxers: more than 300,000 people are now impacted by this delivery system; many churches want to establish their own chip-lending libraries; and thousands of memory chips are currently on loan to listeners.

Thank God for those involved in the production of 12 charity concerts held in Tokyo in the aftermath of Japan’s devastating earthquake and tsunami last March.  The concerts were organized in partnership with FEBC-Japan to raise prayer and financial support for victims.  Pray for continued inspiration and insight for director Keiko Yoshizaki and her team as they produce programming that will deeply touch and comfort their suffering countrymen.

FEBC Vietnamese Ministries transmits programs into Vietnam via shortwave—in Vietnamese as well as 20 minority languages.  Praise God that in recent years, additional means of bringing gospel programming to listeners (such as the Internet) has significantly expanded the scope of their outreach.  Pray that more people in Vietnam will come to know Jesus as a result of the new technology.

Praise God for Olga Kalinina, FEBC’s broadcaster in St. Petersburg, who writes: “Our programs are highly interactive. For each program, we create conversations with both Christian and non-Christian children. It’s a pleasure to see how Christian boys and girls share the Good News with their friends. Their testimonies are unconventional and honest. They are simply introducing their friend Jesus to other kids.” Pray for these programs!

Sadly, RM reports that the vast majority of Russian children come from poor, struggling families where they receive little attention from their parents; religious education is virtually non-existent and children’s quality Christian material is scarce. Pray for RM’s efforts to re-package hundreds of children’s programs and record new ones to reach Russia’s current generation of kids with messages that reflect the realities of their lives.

We need a lot of prayer support and I am sure the Lord knows how to fill in the details...” Pray for the 90 million Vietnamese and minority people of 54 language groups; 98% are unreached for the Lord.

Praise God that when FEBC-Indonesia gave a radio to a listener in West Borneo his faith in Christ became much more mature after tuning in regularly to their spiritual programming. In fact, he even initiated five listener groups in his village: “We formed severalgroups; currently we have two radios in our village. Our hearts’ longing is to have three more...” Ask God to fulfill this need, and also pray for Indonesia’s director and staff.

Continue to pray for Japan, and for the effectiveness of FEBC’s broadcast and outreach efforts to their suffering countrymen. Director Keiko Yoshizakireports: “Months after the earthquake and tsunami there are still 100,000 homeless people living in school gyms, sleeping side by side on the floor. All have lost a family member and everything they own...Please continue praying that the witness of believers along with our radio messages will bring a new wave of God’s love and healing to Japan.”
