This is the story of Alla, a 19-year-old college student in Russia, who shares of God's redemptive healing through abuse:

“As long as I can remember, my father was harsh towards my mother and me. I don’t think he ever spanked me, but I was always afraid of his anger. It was especially devastating to see signs of physical abuse on my Mom.

“A while ago, I began listening to your programs on the Internet, especially Women’s Diary and Hope for the Heart. Little by little I began to understand that without faith, life is empty and pointless. I also felt that living with Jesus makes us real human beings and fully alive: our worth is found in God.

“I started talking to my Mom about this when I visited her on weekends (I currently live on campus). And she began listening to FEBC as well. We also talked about physical abuse and how it is not acceptable. Even though no admissions were made, it was an awkward conversation. But I see how she’s changing – she feels different about herself, as though she’s waking up to life. I see that my parents’ relationship is different now, and I pray for them every night.”
