After serving in the Philippines for more than 17 years, Bob and Barb accepted a new ministry assignment in 2007 -- they joined FEBC's partner, Feba Radio, in South Africa. Bob serves as the Development Director for Southern and Central Africa, overseeing ministry projects in the region of Africa south of the equator. His primary function is to identify opportunities for ministry through radio in the region and then monitor those projects for effectiveness and results. Feba Radio's strategy is to focus on people groups that are hard to reach through traditional missions efforts, or are resistant to the gospel.
Barb is currently serving in the administration of FEBA Radio South Africa. She assists in a variety of tasks around the office and is responsible to process all the direct donations that comes from supporters' bank accounts to help Feba Radio accomplish its work around the world.
Family News
Their son, Nathan is currently living and working in North Dakota. He plans to study mass communications with the hope of working in sports radio as a broadcaster or commentator. Emily is currently studying English at Minnesota State University in Mankato, MN. She is thinking about teaching English as a second language somewhere outside the US or continuing to pursue a higher degree through graduate school.
Bob enjoys investing his time in the worship of God through music. In addition to leading worship at their church in Pretoria or at conferences, he is also encouraging, training, and discipling other musicians in the church to use their talents for leading others into a deeper relationship with God.
Barb enjoys her role of leading Bible studies for women in the church. She is currently leading a Precepts Bible study for a group of women as well as another study at our church among younger women. She enjoys reading and playing tennis. Barb and Bob enjoy getting out and exploring various aspects of South Africa.
